About the Role
From our Tier 2 Stamping client in Windsor is looking to hire a Production Supervisor. The successful candidate will lead the innovations production department cleanliness and effectively communicate to management and peers across shifts via production logging, emails, and verbally.
Other responsibilities include:
Working with managers to implement the company’s policies and goals, supervising and motivating a team of workers, and reviewing the performance of subordinates
Identifying training needs and oversee and monitor the production process as well as implementing/maintaining the production and tryout schedule
Responsible for product quality and ensuring products are produced on time, labour scheduling along with reviewing and approving time card entries, material resources scheduling
Prepare tryout/production documentation for Lead Hands for both Shifts. As well, ensuring that consumable supplies for production/tryouts are always available for all shifts
Work with Shipping/Receiving Manager in coordinating production parts pick-ups, shipping documents, customer/supplier communication (as required)
Responsible to accurately manage and complete the following documentation: all production and tryout related documents, material, WIP and finished goods inventory sheets, incident/accident reports, vacation requests etc.
Scan, electronically file, physically file and electronically access all required documentation
Organize, monitor, document and report all aspects of innovations inventory control; this includes but not limited to finished goods, tryout parts, raw materials, packaging, pallets/skids, equipment/tools, warehouse etc.
Perform inventory organizing using lift trucks, manual pallet jacks etc.
Understand, ability to train and perform all responsibilities per Press Operator, Deflash Operator and Assembly job descriptions as well as quality inspection, rework and product packaging
Supervise and assist (as necessary) in tool change-over(s) including hook-up, unhooking and operation of hot oil heating equipment, tryouts that includes process development, and equipment and start-of-shift inspections
Understand and operate (as necessary) all press control systems, heating systems and robots
Supervise and assist (as necessary): Load and unload material / product / tooling /supplies etc. Shipments to and from trucks with lift trucks or manually as required
Participate (as necessary) and support minor machine / equipment repairs as required
Perform plant shutdown and lock-up procedures as required
Other duties and responsibilities deemed to be reasonable at the discretion of management
General computer skills including the ability to modify, correct and scan Microsoft family documents
Basic Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics Nav
Crane and Forklift training and Certification required
Ability to perform lifting requirements of approximate 10 to 20 kilograms
Work in a fast-paced environment
Work extended and flexible hours, including rotational shift work as required
Skilled at pre-planning tasks
