About the Role

Our automotive client is looking to hire a Senior Automotive Designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing cost-effective equipment, modifications to help improve safety and reliability. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Prepare custom-designed drawing packages from the initial concept stage through the readiness for fabrication stage

  • Ensuring the accuracy of work by checking dimensions of parts, and materials to be used, the relation of one part to another, the relation of various parts to the whole structure of the project 

  • Ensuring designs and completed on time, in budget and on the scope

  • Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components, and systems

  • Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems

  • Recommending modifications following prototype test results

  • Design components, fixtures, and equipment (fabrication structural environment) to develop process layouts for automation, material handling, assembly and robotic systems

  • Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures

  • Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs and provide guidance to the industrial maintenance crews

  • Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems

  • Prepare contract documentation and evaluate tenders for industrial maintenance

  • Reports to the Chief Operating Officer


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer is required. (Mechanical, Automation Systems, Structural Design)

  • Familiar with a variety of procedures, practices and concepts related to Steel Structural Fabrication background, with 4-6 years, experience.

  • Proficiency with Auto-Cad, Solid Works and ERP Systems.

  • Knowledgeable regarding industry and manufacturing process
