About the Role
The successful candidate will set-up and operate CNC machines by reading and interpreting part prints, setting up and securing work pieces and tooling, verifying machine systems and tool sequence setting cutting tools, programming to part prints, machining work pieces, checking finished work pieces, deburring, and prepping for assembly.
Other responsibilities include:
Verify and identify materials for size, shape, and type to ensure that the material selected is correct for the application according to engineering drawings and instructions
Operate and use machine shop CNC equipment for the purpose of manufacturing all machined components
Use all measuring and checking skills to verify that all machined components are correct to blueprints dimensions
Finish and bench all details for the preparation of assembly
Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Grade 12 O.S.S.D. or equivalent
Must possess own tools for daily tasks (ex. micrometers, verniers, indicators, etc.)
Utilizing any company provided tools with care and proper housekeeping
Knowledge of machining equipment, including Haas; also including milling, grinding, and overhead cranes
Strong mechanical problem solving and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to maintain production scheduling deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills
On-the-job training. A minimum of five (5) years experience in a machine shop using CNC equipment would be an asset
