About the Role

Our automotive client in Windsor is looking to hire a Purchasing Specialist. The successful candidate will be leading the purchasing team in North America, Asia, and Europe. 

Additional responsibilities includes: 

  • Able to manage existing suppliers and support new project sourcing activities

  • Lead VAVE with suppliers by Corporations cost reduction goal

  • Strategic management of assigned commodities in support of purchased material/equipment requirements

  • Plan and direct a purchasing program to meet organizational requirements.

  • Recommend purchasing objectives and ensure understanding of approved objectives by subordinates.

  • Lead ideas and initiatives in order to improve global competitiveness

  • Be willing to travel and work in a global environment

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 5 years' minimum experience in purchasing working in an automotive industry

  • Completed post secondary education in Engineering or any related course

  • Proficiency in computer software like MS Office, ERP/MRP experience is an asset

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Excellent organizational skill
