About the Role
Our multinational industrial engineering and steel production client is looking to hire a Procurement Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and tactical management of supplier agreements.
Other responsibilities include:
Leads, manages and monitors inventory levels, on-time shipment of finished goods, warehousing/shipping of goods, and the procurement, receipt, and storage of raw materials. Has complete ownership of material movement and storage from start to finish
Establishes inventory objectives and assumes responsibility for inventory turns (stock rotation). Reviews, identifies, and minimizes obsolete inventory. Recommends disposition within established guidelines
Develops, manages, and maintains departmental plans, budgets, and master production schedule by utilizing input from sales forecast customer demand, material availability, capacity planning to ensure management goals and objectives are met
Provides input for production planning function
Oversee production schedule to ensure cost efficiency and timely customer shipments
Commitment to continuous improvement and work place safety
Required Skills and Qualifications:
10 years of experience in the automotive industry
Working Knowledge of SAP
Ability to manage the acquisition of raw material through to the production and shipment of finished goods
Must have strong leadership skills with a strategic approach to making improvements to product and system flow
Must be able to lead by example whenever necessary and promote a team approach to problem solving
Knowledge of employment related legislative requirements
Self-motivated and display the skills required to develop and motivate employees
Able to work under pressure and with short completion times on projects
