About the Role

Our injection molding client is in search of Logistics Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading strategy & development for the organization's Transportation Management System (TMS) to support optimizaition of all shipping lanes, LTL and expedited freight. 

  • Oversee shipping/receiving function and oversee materials coordinators and various plant locations

  • Manager of Materials Coordinators. Materials coordination and coordination with internal customers and Materials Coordinators assigned to support the role as required

  • Lead incoming and outbound materials management and distribution for divisions

  • Leads efforts to reduce and optimize inventory and turns

  • Provide Point of contact with suppliers and interface for operations

  • Drive continuous  improvement initiatives with material coordinators

  • Process logistics information into ERP/MRP system, create Bill of Lading

  • Oversees planning and schedules with drivers for customer shipments and product for inter-city, international and overseas shipments

  • Schedule outsourced third party logistics for local and international transport

  • Prepare paperwork and all related documentation as needed for shipping

  • Documentation for import/export of goods across international borders.

  • Control and schedule company vehicle fleet/drivers, coordinate shipments domestic      and international coordinating with the Materials Coordinators

  • Responsible for maintaining safe operations keeping work area clean and organized and adhering to safety procedures and regulations

  • Maintain up-to-date metrics: Logistics tracking, Cargo insurance, Proper filing of packing slips

  • Oversee completion of non-conformity paperwork and ensure the information is provided to appropriate personnel including Purchasing and Requestor


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' managing a fleet and coordinating drivers and experience in logistics within a similar industry & work environment

  • Previous experience in Shipping/Receiving is an asset

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook and Excel)

  • Ability to perform under pressure and work independently

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Strong Leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills

  • Proficient in time management and communication skills

  • Ability to utilize ERP/MRP and data input as needed.

  • Ability to work some overtime and some weekends on call as required
