About the Role

Our engineering client specializes in industrial engineer solutions is looking to hire an Application Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing written proposals, conceptual drawings, costing and presentations to customers. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Receive quote file, review and ensure all contents are there and in order and reference the electronic RFQ folder

  • Provide technical/Data Support

  • Creating drawings according to customer specification, presenting ideas onsite to clients, client presentations

  • Ensure checklists are included as well as all ISO documentation meet standard requirements 

  • Develop concept and process for RFQ, generating estimate sheet(s)

  • Utilize manufacturing software to research previous job costing and use it as a reference tool

  • Work with suppliers to obtain quotes.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with Estimators/Supervisors/Program Managers/Shop Floor Supervisors assisting with projects cradle to grave

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of industrial automation experience

  • Must possess post-secondary education in a relevant technical program, with experience specializing in mechanical design and/or machine (PLC/PC) controls

  • Strong problem-solving skills, understanding of material and labour costs, with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required

  • Must be proficient in MS office
